WAVES OF HOPE (40 inch*20inch)
WAVES OF HOPE (40 inch*20inch)
On a rugged stretch of coastline, where the cliffs met the roaring sea, stood an old lighthouse named fort William(lighthouse)in cape coast. For generations, it had guided lost ships safely to shore, its beam cutting through the darkest nights. Yet, it was more than just a lighthouse; it was a symbol of hope for the small fishing village of cape coast .The building was first constructed by the British under Governor Hope-Smith in 1820, and it was named Smith's Tower. In the 1830s, it was reconstructed with more durable materials and renamed Fort William. Since then, it has served as a lighthouse. Currently, the building houses Ghana Museums & Monuments Board staff (GMMB). Fort William is well maintained and open to visitors.
